Canadian Publicly Funded Organization’s Ethical Breach in Nurturing
Relationships with Sanctioned Individuals Contrary to Canada’s Foreign Policy
The undersigned members of the Canadian public strongly denounce the recent actions of the Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC), perceived to disregard Canada’s foreign policy and undermine the interests of the Tamil community. The alignment of certain individuals associated with GTF/CTC with the Sri Lankan state, known for Actions contrary to Tamil interests, raises doubts about the authenticity of these organizations as genuine representatives of our community.
Furthermore, it is alarming to note that certain members affiliated with the Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC), despite residing in Canada, appear to be working against Canada’s foreign policy directives in the Indo-Pacific region. Their activities conflict with imposed sanctions, notably the Canadian government’s Special Economic Measures (Sri Lanka) Regulations, which render listed individuals, including former Presidents Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Mahinda Rajapaksa, Staff Sergeant Sunil Ratnayake, and Lieutenant Commander Chandana Prasad Hettiarachchi, inadmissible to Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. CTC‘s divergence from the rest of the Tamil Diaspora in recognizing Tamil Genocide is evident in its non-participation in collective diaspora efforts for recognition.
For instance,
their invitation to Rupavahini, identified as a Sri Lankan state propaganda tool, during CTC‘s Tamil Canadian Thai Pongal event in 2018 was halted due to a community-wide petition. We urge members of CTC to refrain from manipulating the emotions of genocide victims, families affected by the Sri Lankan Military, and individuals still detained under the PTA, and undermining the efforts of numerous organizations within Sri Lanka and the diaspora. At a time when countries like Canada, USA, UK, India, and the UN seek a favorable solution for Tamils, CTC’s actions undermine collective efforts made worldwide since May-2009 toward justice for Tamil Genocide and War Crimes.
This issue surpasses a mere community event or business matter for CTC to unilaterally decide and engage in friendship agreements with individuals accused of war crimes, claiming representation of the Tamil community and the diaspora. This perceived breach of trust strongly warrants our condemnation of CTC‘s irresponsible behavior.
It is imperative to exercise caution and carefully examine these organizations and their affiliations, considering the potential misalignment of their actions with the best interests of the Tamil community. Any support or funding directed towards such entities may not serve the welfare and aspirations of victims of Genocide or Canada

கீழே கையொப்பமிட்டுள்ள கனேடிய பொதுமக்களாகிய நாங்கள்கனேடிய தமிழ்க் காங்கிரஸின் (CTC) அண்மையநடவடிக்கைகள் கனேடியஅரசின் வெளியுறவு கொள்கைகளை புறக்கணிப்பது போல் தோன்றுவதுடன் தமிழ் சமூகத்தின் நலன்களை குழிபறிக்கும் நடவடிக்கைகள் ஆகக் கருதுகிறோம்.
உலகத் தமிழர் பேரவை (GTF) மற்றும் , கனேடிய தமிழ் காங்கிரஸ் உடன் தொடர்புடைய சில தனிநபர்கள், தமிழர் நலன்களுக்கு எதிராகச் செயல்படுகின்றது என அறியப்பட்ட சிறீலங்கா அரசுடன்சேர்ந்து செய்யப்படுகின்றனர். இவை உண்மையான தமிழ் சமூகத்தின் பிரதிநிதி அமைப்புக்களா என்ற நம்பகத் தன்மையை கேள்விக் குறியாக்குகின்றது.
மேலும் கனடாவில் வசிக்கும் கனேடிய தமிழ் காங்கிரஸ் இன் (CTC) சிலஉறுப்பினர்கள் இந்தோ பசிபிக் பிராந்தியத்தில் கனடாவின் வெளியுறவுக் கொள்கை உத்தரவுகளுக்கு எதிராக செயல்படுவது போல் தெரிகிறது. இது மிகவும் ஆபத்தான ஒரு செயல்பாடாகும். இவர்களின் நடவடிக்கைகள் கனடாவால் ஏற்கனவே விதிக்கப்பட்ட தடைகளுக்கு முரணானவை குறிப்பாக இலங்கைக்கு எதிரான கனேடிய அரசின் சிறப்பு பொருளாதார நடவடிக்கை விதிமுறைகளுக்கு முரணானவை இதனால் குடிவரவு மற்றும் அகதிகள் பாதுகாப்பு சட்டத்தின் கீழ் முன்னாள் ஜனாதிபதிகள் கோத்தபயா ராஜபக்சே, மகிந்த ராஜபக்சே, பணியாளர் நியமன சாஜன்-சுனில் ரத்நாயக்க, மற்றும் லெப்டினன் கமாண்டர் சந்தன பிரசாத் ஹெட்டியாராச்சி உட்பட்ட பல பட்டியலிடப்பட்ட நபர்கள் கனடாவுக்கு வருவது தடைசெய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.
தமிழ் இனப் படுகொலையை அங்கீகரிப்பதில் கனேடிய தமிழ் காங்கிரஸ், மற்றைய புலம்பெயர் தமிழ் மக்களிடமிருந்து வேறுபடுகிறது புலம் பெயர்ந்தோரின் இனப்படுகொலை அங்கீகாரத்துக்கான கூட்டு முயற்சிகளில் பங்குபற்றாதலில் இருந்து இது தெளிவாகத் தெரிகின்றது.
உதாரணமாக 2018 இல் கனேடிய தமிழ் காங்கிரஸ் இன் தைப்பொங்கல் விழாவுக்கு இலங்கை அரசின் பிரசார கருவியாக அடையாளப் படுத்தப்பட்ட ரூபவாகினிக்கு அழைப்பு விடப்பட்டது. இது சமூகம் தழுவிய எதிர்ப்பு மனுவினால் நிறுத்தப்பட்டது. இனப்படுகொலையால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள், இலங்கை ராணுவத்தால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட குடும்பங்கள் பயங்கரவாத தடை சட்டத்தின் (PTA) கீழ் தடுத்து வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள தனிநபர்கள் ஆகியோரின் உணர்வுகளை புண்படுத்தும் வகையில் க.த.கா(CTC) உறுப்பினர்கள் நடந்து கொள்வதை தவிர்க்குமாறு நாம்கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம். மேலும் இவர்களின் செயல்பாடுகள் யாவும் இலங்கையிலும் புலம்பெயர் நாடுகளிலும் உள்ள பல்வேறு அமைப்புக்களின் முயற்சிகளுக்கு குந்தகம் விளைவிக்கின்றன.
தமிழர்களுக்கு சாதகமான தீர்வைத்தேடும் முயற்சியில் கனடா, அமெரிக்கா, இங்கிலாந்து, இந்தியா, ஐ.நா..சபை, போன்றவை ஈடுபட்டுள்ள இத்தருணத்தில் க.த.கா வின் (CTC) செயற்பாடுகள் மே-2009 முதல் தமிழின படுகொலைக்கும், போர்க் குற்றங்களுக்குமான நீதியைப் பெறும் உலகளாவிய கூட்டு முயற்சிகளை பலவீனப் படுத்துகின்றன.
தமிழ் சமூகத்தினதும் புலம்பெயர்ந்தோரினதும் பிரதிநிதியாகக் கூறிக்கொண்டு, போர்க்குற்றங்கள் சாட்டப்பட்டுள்ள நபர்களுடன்,ஒருதலை பட்சமாக முடிவுசெய்து, நட்புறவு ஒப்பந்தங்களில் க. த. கா. ஈடுபடுவது ஒரு சமூகநிகழ்வு அல்லது வர்த்தக விடயத்துக்கும் அப்பாற்பட்டது நம்பிக்கை மீறுவதாகக் கருதப்படும். க.த.காவின் பொறுப்பற்ற செயலுக்குநாம் வலுவான கண்டனத்தைத் தெரிவிக்கிறோம்.
தமிழ்ச் சமூகத்தின் நலன்களை கருத்தில்கொண்டு, இவர்களின் தவறான செயல்பாடுகளின் மறைமுகத் தாக்கங்களை உற்றுநோக்கி, மிகவும் கவனமாக இந்த அமைப்பையும் இத்துடன் தொடர்பு கொண்டுள்ள அமைப்புக்களையும் பற்றி நாம் ஆராய வேண்டியது அவசியம். இவ்வாறான அமைப்புக்களுக்கு கொடுக்கும் ஆதரவோ மற்றும் நிதி உதவியோ இனப்படுகொலைக்கு ஆளானவர்களுக்கோகனடாவுக்கோ எவ்வகை நலன்களையோ அபிலாசைகளையோ பெறுவதற்கு உதவி செய்யாது.
